If RKS Fax is already installed on the computer on which you are installing EssentialFax, EssentialFax will make use of the RKS Fax files, faxes and settings, which are in:
(in XP) C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\My Documents\RKSFax
(in Vista) C:\Users\[your user name]\Documents\RKSFax
If RKS Fax is not installed on the system when Essentialfax is installed, EssentialFax will create and use the following folders:
(in XP) C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\My Documents\EssentialFax
(in Vista) C:\Users\[your user name]\Documents\EssentialFax
You cannot copy the old RKS Fax files into an existing Essentialfax folder system once it is created. It simply will not work. However with versions 1.75 or above of EssentialFax, there is now a function for importing faxes and phonebook from RKS Fax, and this is the preferred method to use.
